Local Development Framework

Response to public consultation

SEC is urging everyone to reply to the Council's public consultation on the many documents that form the Local Development Framework.

You will almost certainly not have been able to attend one of the few meetings about the important plans which will shape the future of Ealing and control planning over the next 15 years.

To help guide people through the myriad issues, we have prepared some brief guides and suggestions on how to respond. A letter from Chairman Will French is below. You can find a Q&A guide and a list of objections (in Word format so that you can download and use them), by clicking on the links.

Dear Supporter

In our last newsletter we told you about the Council's development strategy which it is now consulting on.

This is an important document as it will define how Ealing will change over the next 15 years.

Key policies include building 15,000 new homes in the Borough - increasing the population by perhaps 30,000 to 35,000 people. Most of the new homes will be on or near the Uxbridge Road.

SEC encourages you to view the plans and decide for yourself what to make of them. They are not at all easy to read or to comment on so we have prepared some explanation of what we think they mean and some advice on how to respond.

Our main message however is that these plans will affect places where you live. This will be your last chance to influence the policies that will have a far reaching effect. Do have a look and tell the planners what you think.

Best wishes

Will French
